What is a Digipak?

A Digipak is a form of packaging usually found when purchasing a CD. They are made up of a front cover, back cover and interior concepts for the CD.

The front cover of the Digipak would usually consist of the artist themselves with the artists name on the top of the page followed by the name of the song or album at the bottom taking Rihannas album 'Loud' as an example.

The back of the Digipak would usually consist of a list of the songs that are on the CD, another picture of the artist would sometimes be placed at the back.

Sometimes, inside the Digipak contains the lyrics of the artists songs on the specific CD, along with the song name and the length of the song.
The CD itself can sometimes be quite simple, the colours, images or font of the physical Cd would usually reflect the artists songs or overall theme of the album itself.  The Cd would usually include a preview of a bonus track in order to get the owners of the Cd to purchase the next album. However, sometimes bonus tracks aren't released and if the artists fans who buy the Cd like the song, then the single could potentially be released. Digipaks are important when purchased with a Cd as it makes the fans who buy the album feel closer to the artist as they have something that cannot be bought without the Cd and something that cannot be bought when buying the music online
